Frequently Asked Questions

What if I’m the worst rider in the clinic?

Silly goose! There is no best and worst. There is only the place you start and the place you end. We can all but guarantee you will see improvements throughout the clinic. We work hard to create a supportive environment where you won’t be compared to others. We have no doubt you will gain skill and confidence, so no need to worry!

What if I can’t unload, load, or start my sled by myself?

We are here to help!!! There is no shame in asking for help loading or unloading or even pulling that damn cord for the 5oth time! We love helping and give advice about how to grow into some of these harder tasks.

Can my boyfriend or husband come on the clinic to help or take photos?

Nope! The clinic is for registered clients only. Plus, we know from experience you will learn and grow more when they aren’t around. If you are really interested in doing a clinic with your partner, contact us about a private clinic. If you’re attending a standard clinic, it’s just you baby!! But we do often have spouses/partners group up and ride on their own if they are interested.

What if there isn’t enough snow ?

Conditions are at the discretion of Stephanie. We have never had to cancel a clinic due to lack of snow BUT if we have to, we will reserve a spot in next seasons clinic for you!

Do I need avalanche gear ?

YES YES YES ! These are Backcountry/Mountain clinics and we require the following (all worn on the person vs. on the sled):

  • Avalanche Transceiver (beacon )

  • Avalanche Probe

  • Avalanche Shovel

Additional equipment not required but great to have are : avalanche airbags / radios.

Avalanche Training is ALWAYS recommended for anyone entering the backcountry. It’s not required for these courses but highly recommended you and your crew sign up and attend a course!

Where are we going and when do we leave /return ?

I try to wait until the last minute to release the exact riding location in order to know the best weather/snow pack!

However, after signing up for a clinic you will receive an email with a lot of information regarding the clinic such as what to expect, what to bring, departure/return times (approx.), a Rider Questionnaire to fill out and return, etc.

We will also create a private Facebook group page for your clinic so you all can “meet” each other before our days on the snow together. No worries if you’re not on facebook, we will keep you up to date on the goods!
